This LEGO Technic mini-build "Wrecking Ball Crane" is included in a new "Lego Discover Technic magazine" all about the theme, released in the United Kingdom only. The LEGO Discover magazine cycles through different themes next to Technic, including DREAMZzz and DUPLO, to offer deeper insight into the behind-the-scenes of those sets. It features interviews with LEGO designers, deep dives on sets.
This new LEGO Technic mini-build was initially revealed via a Brickset listing. The compact set features a ball-wrecker built from 80 LEGO Technic elements, largely in the theme’s signature colours of yellow and black. The other 6 parts are 6 1x2 bricks to slam down with this equipment! The ball hangs from a yellow jib, secured on a base of tracks. The base with tracks are running well even on smooth surfaces. The cab and engine of the LEGO set can also turn, offering an impressive level of interactivity for such a small set. I am glad to see that smaller sets under 100 pieces are introduced again, unfortunately only in the UK. According to a look at the inside of the LEGO Technic magazine provided by BricksFanz, future issues of the LEGO Technic issues will also feature similar builds, including a 56-piece Heavy Lift Helicopter mini build.

Despite the size of this small Lego Technic set it has an simple mechanism to turn and slam the wrecking ball into the wall. For this size I am really surprised about the playability. |
