This small buggy released in 1993 continued the expanding line of introductory level Technic vehicles.  None of the features here are new, but if considered without comparison to its predecessors, this is a good functional model.  As you can see in the image, the increasing use of stickers continued here, but they tend to degrade considerably over time which tarnishes the look of the model

This buggy features rack and pinion steering as well as a wheel driven one cylinder reciprocating engine.

Steering

The front wheels can be steered using a wheel at the driver's position.  The wheel drives an axle connected to a 8 tooth pinion gear.  The gear drives a flexible rack.  The steering mechanism itself uses steering arms and toothed links.

Engine

The one cylinder engine is located between and above the rear wheels.

The engine is made from a cylindrical engine element and is driven by the rear axle.  The wheel axle connects to a pair of 24 and 8 tooth bevel gears.  The final axle drives the crankshaft of the engine.  The crankshaft is offset 1/2 stud from center, giving the piston a stroke of 1 stud.

Because the rear axle is solid, this model does not turn very easily and one wheel tends to slip.

Wheels and Tires

This set has 4 of the old yellow wheels and rubber tires.
