This new series of Lego technic Discover Magazines are a real joy. The small sets that come with it like this 412501-Fire Truck are nice gems and very well engineered for the limited number of parts that can be used. Besides the magazines are full of Lego Technic trivia even for an adult fun to go over. As the other three sets (412401 - Wrecking Ball Crane paper bag, 412402 - Heavy Lift Helicopter paper bag, 412403 - Sports Car paper bag) also this set can be build just from the picture on the paper bag. That makes it actually double fun.
This set has 3 functions:
- The fire truck can drive on 6 wheels
- The fire ladder can slew
- The fire ladder can be raised
The size of this set is extremely small just 112[mm] long, 40[mm] wide and 52[mm] high. With a max height of 110[mm].
Because you have enough parts and even 6 wheels you can make dozens of alternative builds!

Though a small set it comes with a ladderthat can be lifted. Through a 5L reddish brown axlewith stop a light bluish gray 2L worm gear and a dark bluish gray 8 tooth gear is it possible toraise and lower the ladder.
